Mandie, 35 from London has been voted Single Mum of the Month for May 2013.

Multi-tasking Mandie is a super mum of two. Whilst working full time along with the start of a degree, this amazing woman has still got the time to find the man of her dreams. This is what she has to say.

“Welcome to my profile . I’m very normal and into pretty normal things I would say.
I love Music, Eating out or cooking. I love trying new foods (nothing too spicy I’m afraid!!) I have two kids age 6 & 14 they keep me occupied but could do with some adult conversation in the evenings and weekends now. Quite partial to a tattoo or two. Have only a couple of small ones myself. But you don’t have to have them.”

“I’m a bit of a geek when it comes to gadgets but not in a sad way!! I like different tv series /documentaries. But def not a telly addict.
I do love Movies but not really into the cheesy Ones I like good comedy & thrillers. Not big on Gruseome horrors, prefer the ones that make you jump.
I do like to leave the house…love the park and walking by rivers or lakes. Love the beach especially on a warm evening with seafood or fish and chips and a cold beer.”

“There is loads of things I would like to do with my life and my dream is to see the aurora borealis (northern lights) Hope its spelt right!! I like holidays when the purse allows it. , like a boogie in a bar or nice restaurant. I love my music too…all kinds and I mean all kinds, very eclectic taste. Don’t mind reading and have a good circle of friends. Currently taking on my first year of my degree, so hoping that goes ok. Just started a new job and very happy with it. Quite a friendly and bubbly person and very understanding.

Too busy for a first date?

The All Important First Date

A first date is always an important one, as this is the time we decide whether we are sexually attracted, whether we are intellectually compatible and whether we have the same morals and principles. A lot of first daters spend a silly amount on making sure they look as close to perfection as possible, but hey why waste the time and money? After all, the other person may well not even be worth it!

Also, all you super-mums don’t have the time to spend hours in front of the mirror, trimming every nail to perfection or buying a whole new outfit – and you shouldn’t have to!

Here are a few tips to help you feel a million dollars on your first date, without breaking the bank or sacrificing special time with your kids! Let’s not be too busy for the first date.

FAKE IT

There is nothing like a bit of a tan to get that beautiful glow, but sadly for all us British single parents – sunbathing and worrying about tan-lines is not an option, so my advice is to get the fake tan out! Having a little glow to your skin can make you feel like a new woman! It’s cheap and effective, so get faking!

PICK ONE

Although you may not have time to get every part of yourself done to your idea of perfection, why not pick one thing? Get your hair done, or maybe your nails. Having one freshly trimmed or freshly painted part of your body done can make you immediately dolled up! So, instead of forking out a lot of money, and time on getting them all done – pick one, and run with it ladies!

SOMETHING NEW

Instead of buying a whole new outfit, purchase one thing new to freshen up your look. For example; some new accessories like a long necklace for that little black dress, a pair of killer heels for those sexy skinny black jeans that you look HOT in, or a ‘boobtastic’ new top to shake up an old pair of jeans.

SOMETHING BORROWED

We all nick our girlfriends clothes on a night out right? Why not flutter your eye lashes at her now and borrow that gorgeous dress you have been eyeing up? This is a great way of feeling like you have bought a new outfit, but without spending the pennies getting it!

“I like to do things that are a little bit different and am not a typical girly girl – I’m equally happy knocking about in my jeans just hanging out having fun as I am all dressed up for a night out! “I like to be adventurous and have no absolute no-nos on my list of things I wouldn’t try – And the list of things i’d like to try is varied for example I’d love to have a go driving fast cars at a track day somewhere, or to have a romantic candlelit meal on a secluded beach at sundown, I’d like to hire jet skis for a day somewhere hot and go and explore the coastline or to do the romantic cliche thing of curling up on a rug in front of a log fire in a cabin somewhere! That being said I also like to do the normal down to earth things like going out for meal and drinks and to the cinema or concerts etc but am just as happy at home in front of a DVD with a take away! I love to cook but don’t mind be cooked for – just promise you are not going to poison me ;) ”
